ACCOMMODATION
Our campsite is built as a traditionnal impluvium house. Nights will usually be spent on camp sites or in individual bungalows with a good level of comfort situated on the bank of a bolong where many activities are offered.
The full board is € 31.50 including VAT for a single person and € 28.50 including VAT per person for two sharing a double room, transfer from N'Dangane included. A reduction of 50% is made for children under twelve years who sleep in the same room as their parents.
The Impluvium house has a restaurant-bar inside for the evening meal which allows people to meet each others as well as other Senegalese families for the evening. There is a toilet block with three sinks, three showers, three toilets and indoor showers, a toilet and a sink for outdoor campers. We built this toilet block to save water on the island because the water is really valuable.
There are ten 11 m2 rooms in the Impluvium house, double rooms with 1m90 on 1m80 double beds, each with a net.
The outdoor restaurant is right on the beach: for breakfast you can watch the sunrise, for lunch watch the birds, taxis and fishing boats with their nets. We also have a beach of 130m long.
With Dienaba, our cook, you will taste all the local dishes, and she will teach you to prepare and even give you Senegalese recipes. The camp's electricity is provided by solar panels.
Several activities are also available thanks to our active team :
- Fishing for a day or half a day with either a line or a cast net.
- Visiting the islands located next to Bird Island.
- Meeting the local people.
- Canoeing in the bolong.
- Trekking on inhabited islands with the possibility to camp for a night.
- Taking part in a tam tam mass.
- Going to the market with the cook and learning more about Senegalese cooking.
