| Like in the Saloum, life is organized along
the fossil delta of a river which has been reclaimed by the sea. However, the landscape is
very different because of the location of that region. |

|
"The villages,
established on the bank of the Casamance delta, are built under the cover of tall trees
which protect them from the hot inter tropical sun. Small orchards and cultivated fields
provide abundant ressources. This description sounds like Paradise, which is not far from
being a reality, if an effort is made to preserve it."
| You will be able to see new
species of birds, found only in the Casamance delta. The great cormorants are easy to spot
because they do not fear humans. Bottlenosed dolphins, which inhabit these waters, will
enjoy a bow ride in front of your boat. |

Another big asset of this
area is the population. Animists in majority, local peope have a profound respect for
their environment and this contributes to the serene atmosphere and the symbiosis with
nature in this southern part of Senegal.
| The inhabitants, the Diolas
in particular, are very welcoming. They are a spontaneous people by nature, and will
always take the time to talk with you and make sure you are well. This is indicative of
the Casamance tradition and hospitality.
All our friends from Casamance are ready to
welcome you and introduce you to one of the most beautiful part of Senegal for your
greatest pleasure. |
